Huaje Art is a living celebration of Oaxacan artistry — a bridge between tradition and modern design.

Founded by Verónica, an indigenous maestra tintorera (master dyer) from Oaxaca, and Alejandro Mendoza, a Zapotec textile artist based in California, our mission is to honor the legacy of handmade crafts while reimagining them for contemporary homes.


Every piece we curate carries the heartbeat of Oaxaca: its colors, its stories, its people.





🌸 Our Story



Rooted in the valleys of Teotitlán del Valle and the surrounding artisan towns, Huaje Art was born from a desire to preserve ancestral techniques while creating sustainable opportunities for the next generation of makers.


Our family-run project connects the artisan workshops of Oaxaca with design-minded collectors in the United States. Each rug, textile, and ceramic piece represents a dialogue between past and present — crafted by hand, dyed with natural pigments, and inspired by nature, architecture, and ritual.
